Crowns

If you have chipped, broken, or missing teeth, we can use custom dental crowns to restore the appearance of your smile! At New Roc Dental, we use crowns for restorative and cosmetic treatments. They are strong, natural-looking, and are custom-made to blend in with the rest of your teeth. Enjoy a brighter, more attractive smile with custom dental crowns!

What Are Crowns Used for?

Crowns are great for repairing or replacing damaged and missing teeth. They are usually made from porcelain or ceramic and are designed to match the shape, size, and color of your surrounding teeth. With a custom dental crown, you can enjoy a fuller smile without having to worry about others noticing your restoration. Your crown will look just like a natural tooth!

Our team uses crowns to address a variety of problems, including:

  •   Chipped or cracked teeth
  •   Broken teeth
  •   Missing teeth
  •   Teeth with large fillings
  •   Severely discolored teeth
  •   Teeth that appear too small
How Are Dental Crowns Made?

To create your crown, we will begin by taking pictures of your mouth. This will help us create a design that matches the natural color and shape of your teeth. After we have this information, we will place an order with a professional dental lab. A team here will create your crown and mail it back to us. This process usually takes two to four weeks.

Once we have your permanent crown, we will call you to schedule a second appointment. During this visit, Dr. Wynter will permanently place your new restoration. We often use dental crowns with bridges, implants, root canals, and a variety of cosmetic treatments.

Are Crowns Permanent?

Dental crowns are some of the most permanent dental treatments available. Because they are made from thick porcelain, they can last decades without needing to be fixed or replaced. By taking good care of your crowns, they should only need minor repairs and adjustments, if any at all.

How Do I Care for My Crown?

Because crowns are made of porcelain, they can chip or break. To keep your restoration in good shape, try to avoid eating hard foods. Olives with pits, popcorn, and ice can all break or damage your new crown. It is also important to avoid using your teeth as tools to open or cut objects.

Continue to maintain your regular dental hygiene routine. Crowns should be brushed and flossed every day – just like your natural teeth. If your restoration becomes damaged, please call us right away. We will be able to fix your crown or order a replacement for you.
